Reasons why organic fertilizers are not effective (Part 1)

Organic fertilizers have become popular in agricultural production, but some people say that I have used organic fertilizers, but I don't think it has any effect! There are many reasons why organic fertilizers are not effective, the first is the reason of the fertilizer itself

1. Nutrients

Due to the low nutrient content of the raw materials or the fermentation process, the organic fertilizer produced by some enterprises is unqualified in terms of nutrients. In addition, some factories do not even have a laboratory, and a batch of products have just entered the market.

2. pH value

During the fermentation process, the pH changes greatly. If the fermentation process is not well controlled, it is possible to find that the pH is above 8.5 or below 5.5 after fermentation. Products that are too acidic, in particular, can cause stunted or dead crops.

3. Chloride ion content

Some manufacturers add chlorinated fertilizers such as ammonium chloride to organic fertilizers to increase the nitrogen in the total nutrients, which also leads to increased chloride ion content and affects the growth of crops.

4. Salt content

Generally speaking, raw materials such as domestic sludge and kitchen waste have high salt content, and crops that are not tolerant to salt will have yellow leaves, leaf drop, wilting, and death.

5. Cation exchange capacity

Organic fertilizers that are not decomposed or even dried and sold manure have extremely low cation exchange capacity and cannot achieve the proper buffering effect. On the contrary, they will also harm the buffering effect of the soil itself and cause crop growth obstacles.

6. Humic acid

Fresh raw materials hardly contain humic acid, which is continuously produced during the fermentation process of organic fertilizer, especially at high temperature fermentation (greater than 50°C). Humic acid can improve crop stress resistance, promote production and germination.

7. Small molecular fatty acids

Generally speaking, small molecular fatty acids exist in unripe materials, such as fresh chicken manure. The harm it brings is: small molecular fatty acids will inhibit seed germination and root growth.

8. Heavy metal

Heavy metals will accumulate in plants and eventually concentrate on humans through the food chain, causing harm to humans. At the same time, heavy metals can also cause damage to the growth of crops.

9. Harmful microorganisms

During the production of organic fertilizers by many manufacturers, due to the technical level, a certain temperature cannot be reached, and most roundworm eggs and coliform bacteria cannot be killed, which affects the healthy growth of crops.
